ANDREW R. JIMENEZ

Andrew R. Jimenez  is a poet, CSU Bakersfield alumnus, screenwriter, mentor, professional athlete and a filmmaker, he is a man of many attributes.

 

Andrew is a 4-time published author and his prequel books are now on display and available for purchase inside the CSU Bakersfield library, independent and major, physical and online bookstores where they will stay for years to come. While at CSUB, Andrew was president of the Poetry Club and his poems have been featured within numerous of newspapers, films, magazines, radio and television shows throughout the globe. Also, with such a busy schedule, Andrew still found the time to develop his own radio show called: The Andy Mo$$ Radio Network, which lasted a total of 3 seasons. And during that span his show made it into the top 5 in radio networks each and every year.

 

Andrew has participated in a couple of traditional and encouraging movements such as 100k Poets for Change, Día de Los Muertos and a few others, plus he’s won 6 consecutive poetry slam contests and he has given motivational and influential speeches at almost every venue you can think of in regards to how his experience, wisdom and poetry made a significant impact on people’s lives for the better

 

Having been acknowledged by noteworthy Experts, Bestselling Authors, highly acclaimed Educators, former Professional Athletes and superstar Business Managers, including but not limited to, 3-time NBA Champion A.C. Green, and Leila Steinberg (Educator, Business Women, Poet, Writer, Dancer, Singer, Founder of Assemblies In Motion and the former mentor and manager of superstar rapper, poet and actor Tupac Shakur.) Andrew's work and words have saved a great deal of relationships, friendships, marriages and even lives and they’ve reached, captivated and uplifted audiences of all ages. Andrew's main purpose with his poetry is to reach an even broader audience, to change, connect, educate and inspire people as well as to heal the heart, spark the mind and revive the soul.

 

His newest book Loved by Day-Misunderstood by Night Vol.3: Entering The Real World is coming in 2015. Along with his electrifying new film "The Crown of Roses" which is based off true events from his poetry book, and is currently in the stages of being shown at national film festivals, set for release in 2016.

 

When Andrew is not writing poetry or writing scripts you can find him doing photography, traveling the world or practicing on the basketball court. He has over 17 years of basketball playing experience and 6 of those 17 at the professional level (ABA, NBAD, LNBP, SPL and IBL.) His ultimate goal is to eventually make it to the NBA. Andrew currently resides in the cities of Bakersfield, Santa Paula and San Diego, CA.
